Historic Images of The Jaite Company Paper Mill
Even as most physical evidence is being destroyed, we are simultaneously attempting to reconstruct, through available historical images, as much as can possibly be preserved of the Jaite Company Paper Mill. This project will continue indefinitely, with the hopes of new additions being made to the archive as it develops.

The images below were taken in 1985, just after the mill had closed, for the Historic American Engineering Record. Photographed by Jet Lowe and his assistants, they offer a view of Jaite in its most pristine condition. Direct comparisons are made to some of these perspectives in the course of the Mill Tour section. The text descriptions are the original image captions written for that project. |
