vintage postcard related to the subject of an alligator attack

In the interest of completeness, we will now very briefly review some of the other ways in which alligators have been presented in postcards and other media, as well as making a few further digressions on related themes.

Visitors may wonder why, perhaps, they have never heard of the entire genre of postcards just presented. Part of the reasoning could be traced to the image at left, which is one of a long series known as "Alligator Borders", and which are highly prized by collectors (some fetching hundreds of dollars). This interest has eclipsed and marginalized most other alligator-related postcard collections, an injustice which Maproom Systems hopes to correct with "Variations on a Theme."
